Roles

The Donaldson Trust, Linlithgow
Voluntary with reasonable expenses covered

Badenoch + Clark is delighted to work in partnership with The Donaldson Trust to secure a new Chair of the Board.

The Donaldson Trust is committed to promoting and encouraging children and young people with sensory and additional support needs to realise their full potential. The vision is to be the most respected organisation in Scotland for the services offered to people with sensory impairments and neurodiversities.

It was with sadness and great thanks that at the end of last year, and after six years of dedication, the organisation said goodbye to its previous Chair. We have large shoes to fill and are looking for a committed individual who will become a huge supporter and ambassador for the Trust and play a significant role in building a charity that prides itself in good governance and strong leadership.

As the Trust continues to develop, we want to ensure our Board is dynamic and robust. The Trust has gone through a period of transformational change and is in year 3 of our ambitious 10-year strategy, having plans to continue to grow and develop our portfolio of services. As a result, The Donaldson Trust is seeking a skilled and creative individual to join us as Chair.

The Chair of The Donaldson Trust will provide inclusive leadership to the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees and ensure that each fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective leadership and governance of the charity. In this role you will also use your leadership skills to support and challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board operates well together and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team. You will also act as ambassador and the public face of the charity alongside the Chief Executive.

As an experienced Trustee or previous Chair, you will be confident in the Chair role and have a strong leadership and strategic background; it would also be beneficial to have experience or background in education, children or young people or mental health.
